The annual Youth of the Year celebration sponsored by Kraft will be held on March 18th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers located at 3303 S. Pinnacle Hills Pkwy. Charles Redfield and Scott Huff will co-emcee the event. Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema will be the Keynote speaker The Youth of the Year is chosen through a stringent application process. Youth provide essays on Home & Family, Moral Character, Community, School, Service to Club, and Life Goals. This year there were a record number of applicants. In round 1 of judging, applicants submitted their essays and gave an oral presentation to the judges. The field was narrowed to four outstanding youth – Brianna Farnsworth, Javi Perez, Reina Martinez, and Victoria Golden. The first round judges were Todd Hanus, Mondelez International; Wendy Eicholtz, Kraft Foods; Shara Fisher, Harvest Direct and David Dyer, Valassis. In the next round of judging Nick Flint, MoneyGram; Mike Williams, United Way of NWA; Ron Sweeney, JB Hunt; and Eddie Black, retired. selected Reina Martinez, and honor student at Rogers Heritage High.
