SMART Girls teaches young girls how to resist peer pressure and help them to build confidence in who they are. In an exercise, SMART Girls looked at themselves in a mirror and wrote down three beautiful things that they saw in themselves. A highlight of the class was Joselin Martinez, Arkansas Youth of the Year, talking about her struggles trying to fit-in with peer groups and meet pretentious societal standards set in media messages. She inspired SMART Girls to stay true to themselves and embrace the person that they are.
