April 10th-13th the members of the Keystone Club of the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County attended the National Keystone Conference in Anaheim, CA. The conference is an educational event and an opportunity for personal development in workshops, general sessions, college tours, and career experiences. There were 1,500 Keystone teens and Advisers from Boys and Girls Clubs across the world that attended the National Conference. Attendees sharpened their leadership skills and discussed relevant issues daily faced by teens. There were four teens from the HLM Teen Center and eleven teens from the Rogers Unit attending the conference, along with advisers Ashley Skaggs and Donovan Golden. The teens were selected to attend based on earning merit points given for their participation in community service, academic success, and involvement within the Boys & Girls Club. At the conference, the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County was awarded 1st place in Career Preparation and earned the Keystone Club of the Year award. They were also finalist in the Teen Outreach and Academic Success categories. The Keystone Club of Benton County is 1 out of 45 other Keystone Clubs to be recognized as a “Legacy Keystone Club.”Congratulations to all of these fine teens!!
