Cooking Matters is a nutrition education course where kids, teens and parents learn about making healthy food choices and how to prepare healthy meals and snacks. In this class for ages 6-9, kids made apple wraps that consisted of apples, peanut butter, bananas and whole wheat tortillas. The club members learned about knife safety and how to properly cut fruits and vegetables. Throughout the course they are encouraged to choose healthy snacks instead of eating junk food. Class members made a sufficient amount of apple wraps to place at the front desk for the families to take home.
