The Boys & Girls Club of Benton County held an essay contest to find a very special SMART Girl. SMART Girls is a character and leadership program that teaches resistance skill and self esteem. The girls in the program were asked to submit an essay describing what the program meant to them and how being a SMART Girl has impacted them personally. Out of the essays submitted, 4 essays were selected as finalists after being judged by Club staff members. The finalist were submitted to the Boys & Girls Club Chief Professional Officer, Jacob Hutson, who led Benton County business leaders in selecting Majestic’s essay as the winner. She showed great poise as she presented her essay to the community at the Great Futures Gala held May 30th. In Majestic’s essay she says “if anyone hates on you because you’re happy, just forget about them. Your happiness doesn’t depend on others, it depends on you. I’m happy because I love who I am, I love my flaws, and I love my imperfections!” We love how Majestic thinks!
