McKinney Unit Club members were challenged to complete soccer-like drills as quick as possible competing against their peers to obtain the fastest completion time. They did both lateral and backward shuffles around obstacles in order to work on their defensive positioning. They ran across a speed ladder, a drill designed to increase agility and coordination. At the end of the challenge, they dribbled a ball around cones and at the last cone took a shot at the goal keeper. This drill benefited ball control, possession, and foot placement for shooting and and ball placement. All activities were designed to challenge Club members to complete the overall drill in a quick, yet controlled manner while raising their heart rate and developing skills in the fundamentals of soccer.
